It’s a really important day and we expect plenty of questions. Here are a few of the more frequently asked ones...
Viewings and bookings
When can we arrange to view Finnebrogue Woods?
Once you have an idea of dates and rough numbers get in touch and we can organise a suitable time for viewing the site. A Saturday or Sunday morning can usually be arranged.
Who will be handling my enquiry & booking?
We have a small dedicated events planning team. Laura will help and support you in the initial booking and planning leading up to your wedding day. Ed, the owner of Finnebrogue Woods, is always at hand to work with you on operations and loves to meet you at your initial viewing of Finnebrogue Woods. Rachael, co-founder and event designer is ready to step in when a creative mind is needed to consult on decor.
One of the team will also be with on the day to make sure everything runs smoothly.
Who’s there on the big day?
There will be a car park attendant to greet you and your guests and then the duty manager will be on hand making sure everything runs to plan for the duration of the day and night.
How many weddings will you be planning at once?
With only one wedding happening each weekend (Friday or Saturday) this means you will have exclusive use of the venue. The atmosphere will be relaxed and you will be allowed time to put your own stamp on your wedding.
Do you facilitate winter weddings?
Our season runs from April to the end of October, so generally we do not facilitate events from November through to March
Site & Tipis
What happens if it rains?
Our tipis come with the strap line, “Embrace the elements”, which has been tried and tested in some of the most testing conditions in Ireland and across the world. We will ensure you and your guests are warm and cosy. Although there is a beautiful natural lakeside path leading to the tipis, this can be by- passed if it’s pouring down - you and your guests can be dropped to the door of the tipi on arrival.
Can I have our wedding ceremony at Finnebrogue Woods?
Yes, we offer a wedding ceremony at two locations on our site. The cost to have your wedding ceremony at Finnebrogue Woods would be a further £450 (Incl. VAT).
Decoration and personal touches
Do you offer extra design and decoration services?
Our sister company Blue Moon Event Design will be delighted to discuss any additional decoration or theming ideas that you may have.
Can we do our own decor within the tipis?
Of course – you will have access from 11am to 5pm the day before your wedding to put your own creative stamp in, on or around the tipis and lawn.
Can we have we play about with the layout within the tipis?
We will provide you with your own speci c oor plan to suit your style and numbers and will try to be as exible as possible with your vision.
What if our numbers are over your stated max of 200?
Please don’t be put off if you are planning a larger affair. We can easily accommodate up to 300 people with additional tipis. Just contact us to discuss your numbers and the corresponding additional costs.
What if our numbers are less than 50?
Equally, if you are planning a more intimate wedding, of fewer than 50 guests, please contact us to explore ways that we can alter our package to suit your needs – this is only where availability allows
Is there accommodation available at Finnebrogue Woods?
At present we do not offer accommodation on site, although we can provide a good list of recommended local B&B’s, self catering cottages & hotels within a 10 minute drive.
Do you provide car parking?
We have ample car parking and your guests may leave their cars overnight as long as they are picked up before midday the next day.
What time can we arrive at Finnebrogue? / What time do we need to leave?
The day is yours, so within reason you can arrive as early as you like. We ask that music is switched off at 1am and the site is vacated by 1.30am.
Can you facilitate access for people with disabilities?
Cars can be driven to within 15 metres of the entrance of the tipis and we can provide disabled access toilets. The lawn is of excellent quality and wheelchair friendly.
Do we need to take out insurance?
Not compulsory, although we would advise an overall wedding package to give you complete piece of mind. Finnebrogue Woods is fully insured.
What about clearing up?
Your caterers and/ or bar staff will normally clear away food and drink related mess, and once you remove all your personal items and décor the next day, we will take care of the rest.
Catering and outside services
Do you charge corkage at Finnebrogue Woods?
If you decide to bring your own booze you will be pleased to know we won’t charge you anything for corkage.
What do I do about a caterer?
We invite you to choose one of the great caterers from our preferred list. If, however, you would like to bring your own caterer, we should be able to accommodate you.
What about other external suppliers?
Although most things are coverered above, you are welcome to bring in bands, DJ’s ice cream vendors, photo booths, bouncy castle’s, sweet carts, etc.
Do you permit fireworks?
Being a working farm we have our cattle to think about, so any request for reworks will be considered on an ad hoc basis through our recommended supplier. For this reason we do not permit Chinese Lanterns.
