These kids-only sessions give young people the chance to step into the heart of the woodland, guided and safely facilitated by our experienced Forest School, Playwork, Duke of Ed and Bushcraft Leaders.
Bushcraft Fun offers an authentic outdoor experience where children can discover new skills, build confidence, and enjoy the simple pleasure of being immersed in nature. From exploring the forest to trying hands-on skills, each session helps nurture resilience, teamwork, problem-solving, and a deeper connection to the natural world. And of course, there’s always time to gather around the campfire for a friendly chat and a warm or cold drink that is sometimes made from the woodland itself.
Led by our Forest School & Playwork leader, Joan, these sessions introduce the basics of woodland survival in an engaging, encouraging way. Over a few hours in the woods, children will learn key outdoor skills such as - fire, water, and shelter - while gaining a sense of independence and appreciation for the environment around them and creating their own adventure play space in the wood.

Event Preparation Info
Our sessions take place outdoors in all weather. Please come prepared with warm, waterproof clothing and sturdy footwear. On arrival go through the wooden gates at the main car park and follow the signs to the Bushcraft & Wild Cooking carpark (keeping to the left) where you will be welcomed by a member of our team at the Wild Tipi.Terms & Conditions To protect the environment and ensure a high-quality fun experience, we limit group sizes and often have waiting lists. Some experiences require us to order resources/food in advance, so if you need to cancel, please let us know as early as possible. • Cancel 1 month or more in advance: Full refund • Cancel 2 weeks in advance: Credit towards another experience of equal value • Cancel 1 week or less: No refund • Cancel by Finnebrogue Woods (e.g. due to high winds): Full Refund
