Shinrin Yoku (Japanese Forest Bathing) in the Woods
Shinrin Yoku (Japanese Forest Bathing)
Mark the first day of spring on St Brigid’s Day (known as Imbolc in the Celtic tradition) on February 1st at Finnebrogue Woods.
Shinrin Yoku (Japanese Forest Bathing) emerged in Japan, but its physical and mental health benefits have been endorsed by the NHS Health Research Authority. This special immersion in the ancient woodlands at Finnebrogue has been designed to connect you with the changing season. It is a time for reflection as the forest reawakens and a chance to re-root yourself back into nature, let go of what is no longer needed and to prepare for rebirth in the spring. We are delighted to enter spring with our Shinrin Yoku experience in the Woods, facilitated Tony Bailie of Crann Forest Therapy (http://crannforesttherapy.com/)
A typical session lasts two hours and you will take part in a series of sensory meditations; sound, smell, sight, touch and even taste to help relax in this peaceful, private retreat surrounded by ancient woodland.
